Husky Picnic: kennel visit, 1 km husky ride and a picnic at the teepee by open fire (hot juice, coffee, and fried sausages). You can bring your own drinks snacks if you want to have a picnic.

Duration: The 1 km ride lasts about 10 mins. Between the rides, it is possible to make friends with the huskies, do photography and sit by the fire doing the picnic. People stay typically 1–2 hours depending on their own interests and weather.

Prices: €30 per person, children under 12 years €10 in the company of paying adults. Payment at location in cash. Credit cards not accepted.

Address: Kennel Gegwen, Saarikunnantie 214, 37500 Lempäälä. This is 155 km north of Helsinki, 30 km south of Tampere. Closest railway station: Lempäälä.

Public transport: If you don’t have a car, the easiest ways here is by train to Lempäälä (20 south of Tampere, 150 km north of Helsinki). Train schedules at http://vr.fi/. There is a taxi stop at Lempäälä station. Take a taxi to my address (8km ~ €20). If there is no taxi, call immediately 0100 4131. You can arrive for the Husky Picnic a little bit earlier or later than agreed.

Next Husky Picnics

Sledding paths are now open and we are offering husky rides daily beginning at 2pm until 4pm. (Mon closed). Max 10 people accepted on the hour.

Prices: 1 km husky ride sitting on a sled €30 per person. Family ticket €70 (includes 2 adults and family’s own children under 12 years; extra fee €10 for 12–16 year-old children).

Because of the worsening COVID situation the price does not include a picnic this winter. However, you can bring you own snacks and drinks and enjoy them by the fire in the teepee.
